This entry level electric skateboard is great for kids
The RazorX Cruiser electric is an entry level cheap electric skateboard from Razor. Performance is less than some of the leaders in the industry, but the price is also substantially less, making it a great first board, and one of the best electric skateboard for kids.
Razor says the lithium-ion battery pack is good for up to 40 minutes of continual use, and since the electric motor is hooked to the rear wheels by a gear (rather than an in-wheel motor), you should be able to replace the wheels with any other skateboard wheels when they wear out.
RazorX Cruiser is recommended for ages 9 and up, but at the same time the 5 ply maple deck and 125w motor can support riders up to 100 kgs.
If you’re looking for a cheap electric skateboard, this is about as cheap as they come. You can get one cheaper, but it’ll be some no-name company. This has the brand reputation of Razor behind it, which is why it made it to our list of the best electric skateboards in Canada.

Amazon.caRazorX Cruiser Review
While the RazorX Cruiser is a cheaper, entry-level skateboard compared to most others on the market, don’t let that fool you. With a weight capacity of 220 lbs, this electric board is powerful enough for adults too – and since it isn’t very expensive (comparatively), the Cruiser is a good choice for adults who are skateboarding and want to give an electric skateboard a try.

What others are saying about the RazorX Cruiser
One verified purchaser on Amazon said that he has 2 other electric skateboards, including a Boosted Board V1. This Cruiser board cost 1/10th of the price the Boosted electric skateboard cost, and with that in mind, he is impressed. Obviously compared to a $2000 Boosted Board it doesn’t go as fast or as far, but the 10mph speed will be “plenty fast for most people and the range is decent for a toy.”
Watch out for…
There are lots of people with complaints about the battery pack. Apparently Razor has put in some low quality 18650 lithium-ion cells into their battery packs. If one of them fails, the whole battery pack will stop accepting a charge.
This seems to be mostly with older boards manufactured in 2017 and 2018. Razor might have addressed the problem in newly built boards. Just in case, make sure you know the return policy of the store you are buying from, and keep the receipt!
