Popular Mechanics has announced their 2021 Tool Awards winners, and DeWalt has claimed 5 of the spots!
Best Job-Site Light
The DeWalt 12v/20v MAX work light received the award in the category of the best job-site light. Rated at 2000 lumens output, it provides plenty of natural daylight-colored light for your work area. It’s IP54 rated to prevent water and dust entering the work light, and it still only weighs just 2.8 lbs making it portable and easy to carry.
Best Finish Nailer
The award for the best 15-gauge finish nailer goes to the DeWalt DCN650B. 100% battery powered, the DeWalt cordless finish nailer is portable and easy to maneuver. It has a tool-free selectable trigger for trigger or contact actuation modes, and an LED light to illuminate the workspace.
Best Pro-Duty Cordless Hammer Drill
DeWalt DCD999B receives honors as the best cordless hammer drill according to Popular Mechanics in 2021. It’s a heavy duty tool, with a heavy-duty nitro-carburized metal chuck and a 3-mode LED light. A 3-speed transmission and a 360-degree side handle help you control all that power.

Best Contractor-Level Cordless Circular Saw
Popular Mechanics picked a best mid-duty cordless circular saw (which Craftsman was awarded top honors) as well as the best contractor-level cordless circular saw. I assume the DeWalt won that category because of it’s full-size 7-1/4-inch blade, it’s 5500 rpm, and it’s ability to use DeWalt’s huge flex-volt batteries for long run times.
Best Toolbox
DeWalt also received an award not in the cordless tool category – for the best toolbox. The ToughSystem 2.0 Rolling Tower received the award. It includes a rolling toolbox with 2 other large toolboxes that mount on top, creating a large, rolling tote system for all your tools.
