The internet is buzzing with the giveaway, and even reputable firms like Palm Beach Research’s Teeka Tiwari is recommending people sign up for it.
Not all countries are supported, so before signing up, check out the list of supported countries below.
There’s no such thing as a free lunch, right? So what’s the catch?
As far as I can figure, it’s some clever marketing ploy. Perhaps they partnered with Stellar and got the XLM for free, or perhaps they purchased it a very long time ago and the value has increased so much they can give away that much and still have some left over? Or, maybe they are smart – and they’ve figured out that each wallet customer is worth at least $25 over their lifetime, so to pay $25 to get a new customer is not that expensive to them.
There is a disclaimer on their site that they are taking their time with the giveaway, and you won’t receive an email until you’re chosen for the weekly batch.
$125,000,000 is a lot to give away, so we’re taking our time with it to give everyone an opportunity to claim XLM. The giveaway happens in weekly batches, so if you’ve signed up for the waitlist, be patient;
Either way, there’s no requirements to use their wallet, or to do anything except sign up with your email, wait for the invitation once you’ve been “chosen”, and then confirm your identity – they say this is to prevent people from claiming the $25 of XLM more than once.
I’ve signed up – I’ll let you know how it goes if I ever get chosen!
Supported Countries for the XML giveaway
All countries that are currently supported by Blockchain.com’s crypto-to-crypto exchange are eligible for the giveaway. This makes sense, as they want to make sure the new users they are bringing to the exchange are legally allowed to use their services.

You are on the waitlist, but you didn’t get chosen for the weekly batch. Be patient – once you’re chosen, you will get an email with the next steps to take to claim your XLM. No details are provided to hint that more people may sign up than they have XLM to pay out… - You must claim your identity to ensure that you aren’t trying to claim more than one $25 free giveaway. Even before you claim your identity, you’ll first receive an email once you’ve been chosen.
- Make sure you live in one of the supported countries – otherwise, they may be restricted by law and can’t give you the freebie.
- If you have multiple wallets, that’s ok – you are still eligible for the XLM giveaway. Just make sure that you remember which wallet you linked to the giveaway as that’s the only wallet the free XLM will show up in.
Other places to earn free XLM
CoinBase also offers a program for Canadians where, after watching short educational videos about Stellar Lumens (XLM), they give you a few dollars worth of it for free. If you complete all of their training on all of the different cryptocurrencies, you can earn up to $161 CDN!
Really thank you – didn’t know anything about these programs for free crypto from CoinBase!
However, Bitcoin’s price has continued to soar.
